E-COAT#12 is a corrosion resistant, color matched coating that restores the original appearance and gloss of factory ecoat. Use E-COAT #12 on any e-coated panel, vehicle floor, engine bay, cross members, core supports, door skins. ECOAT #12 can be used as a DTM primer or as a single coating to match the OEM finish, is available in 5 colors and is compatible with most basecoats.

SUBSTRATES

• Lightly abraded E coat
• Abraded metal (steel, aluminum)
• Polyester body filler
• Prepared OEM painted surfaces
• Fiberglass and SMC
• Galvanized surfaces*

TOOLS REQUIRED

• System 20 UP2012/UP2022 Solvent Based Degreaser or UP2002 Water Based Degreaser
• 320 Grit Sand Paper
• UPOL Tach Cloths

SUBSTRATE PREPERATION

• For best results, ensure all rust and oxidation is removed from the area, and abrade as required finishing with 320 grit. Apply 1-2 even medium coats allowing 10 minutes flash-off. Etch primer is not required on steel or aluminum substrates. Allow 30 minutes before overcoating with solvent based basecoat. For water basecoats, allow to dry hard and abrade lightly with a scuff pad or fine abrasive before application.

MIXING

• Share aerosol can for at least 2 minutes before use.
• When finished, invert the can and spray to clear the nozzle tip.

COATS

• 1-2 coats at a distance of approximately 10” from the surface,
• Build/mMIL : 0.60 per coat
• Coverage: approximately 59 square feet

FLASH-OFF / Min @ 70° F

• Between coats, 10 minutes

DRYING TIMES

• Dust free @ 70° F/ min : 20-30 minutes

SHELF LIFE

• 2 years subject to proper storage conditions
• Aerosol cans should be stored for two hours at room temperature before use. For long term storage, keep in a dry well ventilated area and away from direct sunlight and frost. To clear the nozzle and maximize the lifespan of your aerosol, always invert the can and spray upside down for a few seconds after each use. Should the nozzle become blocked, remove it from the can and soak it in gentle thinners.
