Phosphoric acid ester formula promotes paint adhesion to difficult substrates, like galvanized steel and aluminum. Ideal for rub throughs in primer prior to application of color and new bare metal panels.

SUBSTRATES

• Bare Steel
• Aluminum
• Galvanized and zinc coated steels
• Polyester bodyfillers and GRP
• Fully cured paint

TOOLS REQUIRED

• System 20 UP2012/UP2022 Solvent Based Degreaser or UP2002 Water Based Degreaser
• 220-400 Grit Sandpaper

SUBSTRATE PREPERATION

• For best results, ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned, degreased, dried and dust free.
• Abrade primed surfaces wet or dry with 180-220 grit sandpaper, degrease and dry.

MIXING

• Share aerosol can for at least 2 minutes before use.

COATS

• 1-2 coats at a distance of approximately 10” from the surface
• Build/mMIL : 0.6 MIL
• Coverage: approximately 48.4 square feet

FLASH-OFF / Min @ 68° F

• Between coats, 3-5 minutes

DRYING TIMES

• Dust free @ 68° F/ min : 10-20 minutes

OVER PAINTING

• ACID#8 may be overpainted with most water-based or solvent-based basecoats or solid colors. Under normal circumstances, ACID#8 can be directly overcoated without sanding. ACID#8 may be overcoated directly with top coat. If the repair requires additional build primer filler should be used before topcoat is applied.

SHELF LIFE

• 2 years subject to proper storage conditions
• Aerosol cans should be stored for two hours at room temperature before use. For long term storage, keep in a dry well ventilated area and away from direct sunlight and frost. To clear the nozzle and maximize the lifespan of your aerosol, always invert the can and spray upside down for a few seconds after each use. Should the nozzle become blocked, remove it from the can and soak it in gentle thinners.
